glass half full

im a believer in the glass half full theory. i listen and watch what people say and see how it affects their lives.

its quite obvious to me how people talk and then act, live how different their lives are.

while some say life sucks, things suck in general, always getting screwed, never have time or money. magically thats how their lives are.

others, that give thanks, are happy, ready to tackle the problem or problems that face them have better attitudes to adversity, well those are the people that dont complain, they dont dwell on the negative, are rarely down or negative and these people have tons of positives going on.

cliche 1

the proof is in the pudding
i spent 16 hrs in the van yesterday, i took some new roads i had never been on and just kept it rolling all day.
i took I90 north into minnesota, across s.dakota into the black hills. then lots of small roads across wyoming. it was a long day.
saw a lot of new things, had a lot of new thoughts as well. NFL on sirius saved the day.

lobster theory,

at stores or restaurants where they serve live lobster,

they live in a water tank, they put rubber bands around the claws so they dont pinch you, or better yet pinch each other.

you see if you watch the lobster tank, if they were not banded up, one guy would try to crawl up the corner, trying to get out. the other lobsters see him and go grab him pulling him down, back with the rest of them, who are about to get boiled.
its a primitive mechanism, humans have it to.

see someone trying, doing, getting out, and they grab them and bring them down. "hey im stuck here, you are going to leave me down in this shit pile"

i see it everyday, mostly with words. it has a greater effect that way.
people have good and bad days but how they deal with it and move is on the lesson.

cliche 2

you can take a horse to water but you cant make it drink.

its a free world, you can do what you want, thats the beauty of it all.

im the messenger, i deliver stuff.

i like to think what if.

currently in corn fields of the frozen tundra of nebraska

im pretty bummed i cant go to st george this weekend and ride with bart, dave and lynda, kerkove and lots of other guys.

i have to go to mad town, its windy and cold here. i spent the afternoon driving in wyoming in tornado force cross winds and blowing snow, its really windy and dangerous.

there are also 50million semi trucks in my way. they just pull out to pass the slow semis when ever they want and cut me off.

im working on a post about the laws of intention.

intention is a powerful tool.

its like gravity, you cant fight it. if you jump off a cliff you will fall. its a law.

same with intention, if you set it in the right direction you will make it work. i constantly, myself included watch people try to re-invent the wheel. jumping off cliffs and trying to float. that damn gravity keeps smashing them into the ground.

intention is easy to figure out if it works or not.

set a goal and if you get it then your intention was set high enough, if you didnt get it then you didnt have it set properly.

proof is in the results, its a no brainer.

white line fever,

i'll be back monday and head down to dixie thursday.

windmill at gooseberry 930am next sat the 19th.
check brad keyes blog, linked up on the right.

laws of attraction

the topic and comments here made me write this story. im not beating the dead horse, im trying to make a point so read on.

the comments made by my fellow bloggers make me believe that my intentions and beliefs are not understood.

this is not about being cocky or arrogant,
ITS NOT about breaking loved ones hearts
or setting examples for kids
or wishing for perfection, dodging bullets
or getting pissed at friends for caring
or saying shit happens

its about understanding laws of attraction. whatever you have in your life, good or bad is because of your thoughts and how you think.

being in the right or wrong place at the right or wrong time is not coincidence. its not "their" fault.
its not luck and its not bad or good timing.

its there cuz you wanted it to be, to learn a lesson or to take the good from it.

every crash, every short coming and failure is there because you need to learn something from it. its there because you made it come to you.

once people understand this and stop blaming others it makes things much easier.

i dont want to get hurt, or hurt others.

i choose not to be around that chaos and i dont attract it to me. i dont attract people crashing into me and i dont worry about "other peoples accidents"

shit doesnt happen.

if something happens to me that i dont want i think about it and figure out why and what the lesson is from that.
it all has messages, you just have to pay attention and get it.

its obvious to me that the comments made here that those dont get it. it being what im trying to explain.

im not saying im perfect and dont crash, i tip over and get cuts from time to time. thing is i dont want that, i dont want to die, i dont want to be paralyzed or brain dead.

i dont think an 8oz piece of foam is going to help and i dont need to here all the rebuttles and proof that im wrong.
those things are tested for 15mph crashes and when im ripping dh im not going 15mph. so if i do crash and get busted up you can email me, blog about me and or come see me at the hospital on my death bed and say i told you so.

im doing this my way and im trying new ways of thinking out of the box, maybe with too much on the table.
but thats my style and its ok by me.

ryan trebon attracted this to him

tim johnson did the same, but in a different way.

training compound south

me and rico braved the cold morning air for some training in the compound.

time for a nap, and lunch.

2 a days, someone has got to do it.

the washing machine, baby stroller, bbq and lawn chair all in the desert.

its break time
we found rico a sweet new ipod
"With six weeks of solid riding and several five-hour rides in my legs,
my bike is starting to once again feel part of my body, and it now also seems to be moving more fluidly.

The initial couple of rides are difficult, the bike feels uncomfortable, like a shoe that isn't fitting well, and it feels as though a wheel is rubbing, a brake is touching, or there is a slight headwind each time the road goes uphill. Each season, that unpleasant feeling seems to disappear overnight; one morning about two weeks ago, I stepped onto my bike and floated; my legs spun, the bike moved, and I felt like a cyclist. "

3 or 4 hours a day keeps chippo away

see the main trail,

down below, the bear claw poppy.
up above on the rim heading south into bloomington

chippo went home, hes blown, cant hang with the watts.

i dont need gps, i have a good one goin on in my head. i dont get lost, even in cities, on free ways and i boggle people with my nack of route finding. like today, out on the mesa.
i followed that map below at the hotel, put a picture of it in my head and went out to green valley. found lots of old 2 track and some lightly traveled 1 track. eventually got up to the top of that mesa. its good climb, the views at the top are sweet and the dh 1 track is a ripper. up on the top you can see the bear claw poppy and all kinds of mtn bikers down below. they dont have a clue im up spying on them and probably dont know there is the sweetest trail up above on that mesa.

im going back tomorrow with rico, then t bird said hes bringin some roadies down thurs. i think i'll take them out on the barrel roll, the brother to barrrel the barrell drop mixed in with zen and the poppy. that should work them over.
so if you know this zen ride, shame on you for not telling me. its so close to town and by far the best ride in the area.

and if you have never been on it, go find it. its the best around, beats jem, and the goose. so when in town follow the map below.

when at the bottom of the dh look for rock cairns as the trail is on broken slick rock and route finding is made harder by light traffic and no dirt for tracks to be left.

i found my way back to the beginning with a few detours but i was hauling so much ass i missed a few turns.

looking north into ivins, and below. the 3 fingers of death
mid way up you wind through cliffs, tricky drops and caves.

its the zen

new year means time to kick ass

i spent the night reading blogs.

came across a call out from rachel... and krafty, wow. people want me.

1-i have never had beer, alcohol or any drugs. i mean any kind at all. not because any told me too, because i wont go to hell or had bossy parents. probably the opposite, they let me do what i want. im not a mormon, not a bad thing. but its not for me.

2-i have been self employed for 9 years. selling bike parts online, at various places, gettin by on good deals. got sick of trading time for money and made it happen.

3-i got a drivers license when i was 25, the judge made me. i had too many tickets driving my gf's car around. he said if i got 1 more ticket without a license i would spend 60 days in jail. theres no way in hell i could do that much time. i'd skip south and live on the beach.

4-i raced bmx in murray at twin peaks in 1987-88'. probably would have been doing it longer but i got a tomac edition mongoose 26" 18 speed, rigid with toe clips then hit the trails. dog lake in 89', deso, etc. rippin the wasatch before stormin, and mitchel were born.

5-I've been to jail twice. once in 98' when they put the trax on main street. they had cops at the intersections telling people not to cross or jay walk. the lady told me not to ride across the trax i told her to F off and she cuffed me.
then stuffed me.
8 hrs later they let me out of the clink, just in time for dinner.

2nd time was in 04' riding down main street side walk. the cop walking gave me a ticket for riding on the side walk. i threw it in the garbage and he didnt like that.
hauled me off for 8 more hrs in the pit.

ego maniacs.

thx for the ride t bird.

swill, rico, butta, mistress, forrest
