the fox den is fox fun

back to the big city and back to my roots in the slc, i'm a machine. 1900 miles in 73 hours. sounds like the end results to the tour or something. im burnt on driving im hiring some help. email your apps. qualifications? yes many.
1-must be able to drive all night
2-must be old enough to drive
3-willing to be told how to drive by me
4-can listen to tecno house music for 3 days straight without complaining
5-get paid $200 for 3 days
6-all expenses paid for
7-bonuses are you get to hang with me, maybe learn something cool and see the country side with sly
8-it will help if your 130 lbs blond and have a nice rack.

i opened up this can of whoop ass out on the road.

i stopped in boise this morning. tom coleman at www.wobblenaught.com hooked my bikes up with the right dimensions. if it wasn't for him i would be in vegas on the street dirt poor begging for pizza crusts.

there is only one way to fit your bike right and its his way. i dont understand why every shop in the valley has their own way to fit someone and they are all doing it wrong. charging around $100 bucks to be fit, ordering a custom frame and its all wrong. it blows me away. if you want the right fit you need to have someone do it the way tom does it. plain and simple.

go to www.wobblenaught.com and look at the results page it speaks for it self.

remember fox den is fox fun

this picture doesnt give it justice.

jango, maggy and izzy the dogs

oh ya dont forget about carmen and her new car

todays sunrise in oregon, remember to appreciate these small things. tomorrow you may not be here. or maybe someone will throw some scissors in your eyes and you wont be able to see this everyday occurance anymore.

im outta here for 2 hrs of trails. i've been cooped up in the van all day and its freakin hot here.

time to shred.

revenge of the siskiyous

ashland oregon.
i drove most the night across the unforgiving desert of nevada. it was a full moon so i saw mostly everything and almost killed about 20 jack rabbits. this swap is lame. its tiny and they wouldnt even let me in early. i had to wait in line for an hour then i found some ti rail seats for $10 bucks. what a waste. until i scored a specialized allez road bike with ultegra for 8 bucks. ya 8 bucks. its kind of beat but its 8 friggin dollars. what the?? also a ti road frame for $75. not bad.

this town is laid back and kind of hippy like. alot of guys with dreads and beards. and fat old people, maybe i might move here. dont count on it. im bustin up I-5 north bound. portland swap tomorrow then im riding some ramps, teeter totters and bridges at mini vancouver tomorrrow. its 70 and sunny. i might get a 1 hr road ride in. im tired and bored so well see. i've got 5 g's burnin a hole in my pocket. good thing i didnt lose it in wendover. i should have put it all on red.

huffy 3 wheeler with srp ti bolt kit & carbon sissy bar

check out this bad boy, i souped it up for the daily haul over to fedex. this baby rips. its a huffy with a 3 speed rear hub. i lightened it up with the ti bolt kit and the carbon bar. no its not for sale.

it was another day in paradise. sunny and warm, the clock is wrong but who cares. half the time i dont know what day it is let alone what time.

shammy time = 3 hrs. to the bank account of fitness

i found this poor guy up emigration.

i like riding at night, the mtn bike is way better though. shredding dry creek at night is great. i like racing 24 hrs at moab especially the night laps. ripping almost as fast times at night as in the day. passing like 70 people a lap just creeping down rock ledges. ask T money he has first hand experience.

tonights moon rise

fold it out $$$$

everyone wants to get paid. ya so do i. im heading to the northwest for 2 swaps tomorrow,

here is the wolfs truck, i think he has an alcohol problem. if you recall last week i posted some pics of his old house with beer cans everywhere and his fire bombed melted garbage can.
check out the sasquatch posters. he puts them up at red butte.

due west to arcata nor cal through the redwood forests to see some old friends, shortly. then up to ashland oregon saturday. portland sunday, then to hood river to rip some mini vancouver ramps and bridges on the rush. down to boise monday to get a wobble naught fit by the inventor and pro fit guru. www.wobblenaught.com

so lately everyone wants to get paid, lets make a list. i sold kwaits road bike yesterday. thats 3 grand, i owe slowran for a new van thats 2 g's. bates, bart, adam, ah what ever i can think of about 20 guys who need the cash but why bore you. 3 hrs on the trail today then its 12 hrs to arcata tomorrow. maybe i will see bigfoot, sasquatch the yeti or all 3 at once. they all chill in the redwoods up the cascades into hood river and st helens gifford pinchot forest. this time im armed with my nikon aim and shoot. remember we are friends, no guns. just some proof of the elusive beast.

not a question of if. but when.

im like the san andreas/cascadia zone fault mega quake. its going to go off. thats undeniable. the question is when.

progress. if i look at my life in the last 2 months i see huge gains. im talking about only fitness and health. go back to january, i was 210 pounds of pure muscle. it took me 1 hr 5 mins to ride home i was pegged the whole way and collapsed upon arrival. now its 40 mins and i could go a few hours more. thats big gains. lets measure weight, feb 13th i started a 23 day cleanse and was 210 pounds. now im 170. thats only 90 days ago. my energy is super improved. i dont need a nap daily, i do tons of things daily and still have energy to ride 3 hrs a day. oh ya i just did 3 hrs today.

im telling you this because being fat sucks and if you have never been over weight and tried to excersize, i want you to try something. i just rode home with a 20 pound back pack and it was hard, try 50 or 60 pounds and you will understand the power of gravity on your lard ass (with a back pack) the bag i had today was only 20 and it felt like it was 40. now my race weight and goal is 145 and that is easily do-able. because i have been there before. thats me not even super ripped like jones or bart, also with the amount of power i have built up riding up this damn hill for 4 months. once the weight (back pack) is gone the raw power and power to weight ratio will leave absalon and hermida envious. i need 3 weeks, thats 155 by june and 145 by mid june.
in june july and august racing will be great, riding is great. warm sunny days are the best. look at barts page. those guys dont have legs or arms anymore. go ride, fast or slow at least we have working body parts.

im dedicating the next 150 days to warm sunny days of riding, road or mtn. trails or racing somewhere far away. after those 150 are over i will dedicate the rest of the year for cyclocross racing which i have not done in about 5 years.

i have been thinking about the races i want to win, so here you go.

win 2 or 3 ICS races in expert by 10 mins., then move back to where i should be. give bart and jones some trouble later in july/august.

deer valley norba, not sure what category yet expert or semi pro are the choices but im not sure if they will upgrade me since i have not raced them since 03'.
sonoma norba
i want to win the 50 mile races at deer valley and brian head, just overall no categories.
i could win a few RMR's with the right luck.
we will see how it goes into august, the only thing im thinking about then is beating stormin normin in the snowbird hillclimb. he can get top 3 overall so i might as well just win the whole race and set the record. i hope dave z, louder or burk doesnt show up.

i want to explain the tape worm theory. this is what i have come up with. parasites that eat what you eat should theoretically make you skinny, and sometimes is does, depending on alot of co factors. as for me it is like the hoard theory. my body was getting deprived, both from riding alot and the parasites. this causes the body to hoard all calories once i ate it, being deprived for long periods of time and then getting some calories and storing it away for later use, causing rapid weight gain. thats my theory, if you have a better one email or call me and tell me.

i have to get back to the lumber yard on the history channel.

mess maker or manifesting machines

if you dont screw things up daily then you are not trying hard enough. or hourly i find that i jack shit up. gary tells me anyway, megan reminded me today, take credit for your life. its your own manifestation. everything you have is because of you. you created it. all of it, the good and the bad. its not anybody elses fault so take credit for it all. what did you create today. probably alot. mess making machines,, taking risks trying different ideas or breaking and screwing everything up that i touch. as long as i can screw it up at least i tried, and learned something.

meet the millet family or part of them. kevin and adrienne below, brett is MIA as usual. boshee the dog, here is nicole and claire elise

here is andria and claire elise being normal and

heres matt playing xbox

heres taylor,.. he can shred the skate park

and yours truly, looking quite enthusiastic.

sweet ride with pegs

BOSHEEE THE DOG

i found this at the salt city couriers. im gonna be borrowing it for some off road trail action. this frickin freakin friggin blogger upload isnt takin my pics so just imagine some sweet beeamer moto bike. red, with fenders. ya you got the picture. ok here it is i fixed the pics obviously.

i went to see megan the light worker. every tuesday she does foot reflexology and cranial sacral on me. its like laying on a massage table and getting to take a nap. foot trigger points and head/neck work. she convinced me to take it easy today. so i said ok.

today is one of those days where your legs feel like tree trunks, pieces or lumber, or concrete, heavy and worthless. when you stand up on the bike for 2 seconds they hurt and wont go in circles so after 3 days of hammering i rode down the canyon this morning, and i will be going to the movies and not be doing another ride today. i hope you know the feeling because i hate it and want it go away fast.

bike wrecks

i gotta put this in. i got it from burks site www.t-birdsroost.com its so funny.
look at this ass clown.

mondays are my favorite days of the week. i dont have to get up and go to a desk job. i dont have to be anywhere, i can sleep and get up whenever eva does. punching a clock sucks. you can really tell what day it is in salt lake by driving downtown. saturday night its traffic and busy, i hate it. sunday night its dead quiet. not thats better. everyone is in bed because they have to get up and go to work. yes go to bed people stay away from me. i will ram you with my van when you cut me off.

check out this link, its great.

i just got this email from the wolf. check out the pics.

Here's some I took at Ensign two summers ago: http://www.planetquirky.com/ensign/

Need a favor, as I am in Washinton for the next year. Go to Red Butte and try this combination on the locked gate at the top of the road. 7021 (might be 7023, i cant' quite remember) Tell me if it still works. There is a big ass moose up there so watch out.

Lock is here: http://www.codon.com/~mike/stuff/RedButteSign.jpg

4 hrs that broke the foxs back

4 hrs of trails, im beat and worked myself over. check it out.
started downtown, up to the zoo, up high roller coaster, over and up red butte, up dry creek, down bobsled, up the pavement top of bobsled, down city creek, over to the capitol up ensign down city creek. all that on 4 eggs and a gatorade.

i saw skyler bingham riding this 40 lb free ride bike up some steep granny gear climb with his girl friend. that guy is crazy. stick to RMR buddy.
top of red butte

top of dry creek

bombin down bobsled, its a full on river.

2 hrs in i stopped to refill at this water station at the bottom of bobsled. i found these on the trail. ya dont even ask. i ate them.

the fox cut off behind bobsled. if you go up to the saddle at the top of bobsled then go north instead of south, go down the trail about 200 feet and its a sharp left. its a steep hike a bike for about 200 feet. once you are there its like this. nobody rides this trail and its called the fox cutoff. dont tell anyone.

if you look close here you can see trevor simpers house. he lives out on the shores of the great salt lake with his son taliban, other than that its a great shot of the refinery train tracks and I15. thats why i took this trail. to enjoy the scenery. yaaa

every time i go up ensign some jack ass is ruining my trails. check this out. built right on top of the trail. what up G?

rekognize.

oh ya heres the top of the final climb the radio towers up on ensign. and righ next to it the trail over to mueller. down into bountiful.

and the payoff, rippin it down into city creek on the rush with master of puppets blastin on the ipod. that bike eats it up.

how does that saying go? another day another dollar, or trail or something.

im kind of sticky and dirty, my hair is matted and greasy. its time for my weekly shower.

peace out

new day.. time to ride

rosie bart and eva are still in fontucky. bart said he was in 17th until the last lap flat. seems like alot of guys flatted. jonesee passed him and got 24th, bart ended up 30th. they are staying for the short track maybe the beagle and uncork a top 10. bart and jones win races around here by at least 10 mins. he said before he flatted wells and jhk had put 12 mins into him. i cant even imagine that. then wells and jhk go to world cups and get their asses handed to them by absalon, hermida and brentjens. by 10 to 20 mins. freakin amazing.

now ive got to say. whos natural and whos not. get a clue.

the house is dead quiet. i killed more mice in the garage and i slept 10 hrs last night. after yesterdays debacle i laid down and went to sleep on the couch i was beat only after 1.5 hrs of hammering. i have not went that hard for an hour in like a year. we were not even going that fast, thats the depressing thing. i was trying to follow www.racerjared.com but that wasnt even happening. the 6'6" kid was dropping me with ease on every rise. oh well. im goin out for 4 hrs on the mtn bike. the next 3 weeks are big hour weeks and it will launch me into the june ass whoopins. last night i went to the movies with kevin adrienne, nicole, matt, andria and little claire- elise www.fibrowellness.com the hills have eyes. that is just plain sick. everytime i stop to sleep in my van on the way to cali i think people are going to jump me. freakin wrong. one day i will get a pic of these guys so you know whats up.

so we walked out with like 40 other people. yes they all left at once. we went to 16 blocks instead. that was a better show.

todays sked: eat some eggs
go cruise mtn trails for 4 hrs.
take a nap
have dinner
watch nba
check the results at the gila and giro

ass kicked

trial by fire = ass kicked. in over my head. train harder. go back again and do better. what else is there? ummm get faster maybe. the experts wasted me and im sitting here like a trembling hunk of bloody flesh trying to gather what just happened to me. but dont worry give me a few weeks and the shit will be rollin and nobody will stop me. i was laughing at art last night from his post about gila. www.artoconnor.com now look at me.
feels like when i bet 3000 on denver in 1995 and they got blown out. kick to balls, yes.

natural born killer

although i love animals and would never hurt one, i killed a mouse. i have never hunted or shot, kicked or mamed an animal. except this mouse in the garage is dead. a natural born killer. that means killer instinct. the edge most people dont have when comes to that point in a race where the pain is greater than the so called reward. the point where most 99% of the population say you are crazy, where you take the big risks, choose the crazy line on dh, throw caution to the wind and red line it for what to them seems minimal gains. the killer instinct you could say is the will to push yourself beyond what you can ever dream. when i was 14 i new this old guy named sam hill from riverton. back then he was like 55 or 60. i have not seen him since 1990 and i dont even know if he is still alive. he took me to the mtns on my new mtn bike, drove me around to a few races and said i was a natural born killer. the rest is history and a new chapter starts today.

im goin to the races. updates later tonight

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/05/05/business/wbbike.php

Here's a great article on how other cities have incorporated more cyclists and fewer cars. The most interesting thing is that it actually made for safer roads.
"In some cases, merchants who were initially nervous actually saw sales rising as the population of more fluid bus and cycle lanes fed them more customers. What has also been discovered worldwide is that accident rates have dropped wherever cycling has gained momentum, as cars are forced to slow down and as they become more accustomed to sharing the road."Happy riding!
