lotoja is a gay race. its not for me, its so boring. you know i have A.D.D.

i did it once in baggy shorts back in 99. i wasnt fun. so to all that do it and like it you are my hero.

last year i drove it for my friend carl. hes gone to africa now but last year he finished in like 12 hours. it was a cold rainy day with some snow on one mtn pass. i remember thinking i was glad i was in the van. like 800 people dropped out.

here are a few high lights.

watching al butler come into the 2nd feed zone at 75 miles with an 10 min lead over normy, sopping wet and shivering.

watching gardie get in the car at mile 75. hes so skinny and was so cold he couldnt stand up. poor guy.

seeing normy bridge up to the lead 2 and make up 10 mins by the next feed zone

driving back and its like 10pm some guy is riding in a down pour 50 miles to go to teton village.
and he finished at like 2am.

thats crazier than riding any mtn race and without a helmet.

now im going riding for 8 hours in memory of the old dudes with sevens, discovery jerseys and pot bellies who can drop me at will after 7 hours.
