snow at the peak

snow up on the ridge, 10,000 feet. 35 degrees and stormy. i could see the slc valley and it was sunny so i rode the river down the trail.

this ride doesnt have a name so im calling it the millcreek mid mtn loop.

you can ride it many ways but this way takes just under 3.5 hrs.

start in milcreek go up to the ridge on gw. drop over the top to wolf mtn mid mtn connector trail, follow that to jupiter bowl up to scotts pass up puke hill to crest back down milcreek.

its a good loop with about 5000 vertical. mid mtn was packed with people and dry. then it was raining up in jupiter all the way to lake deso. cold and windy, soaked with rain and hail.

i learned how to kill squirrels and build a shelter from this guy, but i decided to press on and get back to the valley.

hard core i know.

down here its 90* and warm. it feels nice after the numb hands.

they got 10th/11th. thats pretty sweet.

it says 110 guys dropped out, for a race thats 4.5 hrs long whats the deal? all those guys are paid to race and they cant finish. maybe they are saving it for some cross racing.
