seat post failure and look what i found

seat posts usually break when these things happen.

carbon is over tightened causing a weak point, the post is too long and or the rider weight is too much for the mast.

if you do all of those of course it will break.

so, my post is not extended much more than 6 inches, i dont weigh more than 160 lbs at the moment, anything over 12" extended and 190 lbs i would not use a carbon post.

or if you sit down a lot through whoops and or compression bumps when the bike suspension bottoms out cuz you dont use your legs to take the g's.

all that force on the post when its weakened or too long, ya it will break.

use the parts that work for you in your type of style of riding.

these parts i use work for me, the tires and rims wouldnt work for 90% of mtn bikers. they would trash them, flat and rip the tires on a 1 mile section of rocky dh.

i found this in the mona vie team garage today.

dt swiss carbon rear shock.
with silver lock out lever.
$490 retail value.
free at chippos house.
ok so i traded him.
140 grams. if you know grams you know thats insane.
hope it doesnt blow.
