go to www.ridetrash.com

swill thomas, owner, operator, CEO. ridetrash.com

atrain and julie have good stories about swill, he likes to ride bikes so if you like dark side bike culture, swearing, porn and the like check out his website. straight outta santa barbara.

yaa

1. When and why did you start RideTrash.com?

RideTrash began as my final project for a UCSB web design class I took a couple years ago. I wanted to combine our common thread as cyclists; bikes, beer and boobs, with short, humorous blurbs without being a traditional “this is what I did today” type of blog.It really amazes me how much traction the site has created and how many people read it on a monthly basis. I guess there just isn’t enough foul language and porn on the internet already.

2. Your wife is a total hottie. How did you pull that off?

Before you guys get too exited, you need to know that she’s really a 14-year old, transgender Philippino boy I ordered online. With that said, it could have been the giant tube sock I stuffed in my pants when we met or maybe an eye examination is in order.

3. Who is a bigger douche bag, Tyler Hamilton or Dick Cheney?

Make no mistake, Dick Cheney is the most evil, sadistic mother F%$#@r of our time. But as far as just being a big, stinking “douche bag”? I’d say the guy with the vanishing twin, who swears on dog graves and always looks like someone just whacked him on the side of the head wins that contest hands down.

4. Why do Metal and Bikes go so well together?

Do you really need to ask??? Metal is like a good, strong cup of coffee. It stirs up deep primal aggression and allows you to apply that to the pedals. I just can’t imagine doing sprint intervals to AFI or Kelly Clarkson.
I’ll have to admit though; I do prefer upbeat techno shit while on long climbs.

5. Were you and Atrain separated at birth?

I consider Art “My brother from another mother”. I’ve known him for two years now and it’s still eerie how similar many of our likes and dislikes are, just ask Lorrie or Mistress Julie, not to mention we’re both tall, skinny freaks of nature.

miss julie wants some interview attention, who thinks i should put her on here?
comments and suggestions please, im having a tough time with this one.

weds night at soldier hollow

well that last post is a downer, we need to TCOB, ....take care of bizness.

hope marty gets it done.

anyway more positive, i went up to races last night in heber. since the debacle of last week end i gave up the bike game.

ok not really.

i was pretty tired for one reason or another. maybe its all the chicks and hot tubs. you know the plush livin high rollin life of sly.

so i sat around all week, i wasnt even going to race but i felt ok yesterday so we head up to summit county and the 89 degrees up there felt balmy compared to 102 in the big city.

a few fast guys showed up for an hour in the dust and hot weed fields of the olympic park.
then after that my 2 fave girl friends took me out to dinner. i hate to brag as you know but i have to about that, its too much fun.

so anyway heres how it panned out after an hour

1 alex the g
2 sly
3 c. holley
4 the wolf
5 brandon f
6 brian g, barts little bro.
sorry guys thats all the results i got.
i felt kind of weak, but its better than last week end, and good news for saturday. me and zep got 6 hr shifts to throw down in the heat of round valley. bionic dave better bring his A GAME DOG.
YAA

killers on the street

heres a pic of a similar truck.

i dont know marty but that doesnt matter. sounds like we have some mutual friends but we never met up yet.
who ever did this, ran him down on his bike needs to be locked up for 100 years. hes not dead but hes really jacked up.
this is the least i can do, i hope it gets around to the right people and i know it will.

from kevin wilde

I'm writing to request your help. You might have heard the story about the SLC man who was intentionally hit and almost killed by a delivery man Saturday night. Marty Kastelar, the victim, introduced me to mountain biking when I was 16 and has been my best friend ever since. Not only was he my best-man at my wedding, but he's my main riding buddy and might not ever be able to ride again. I'm trying to get as much information out there as I can to make sure the guy who did this to him is caught and charged for this crime. Could you post something on your blog and get the word out that one of the cycling communities best needs our help.
Thanks for your help,
Kevin

from miss holmes.

Let me know how I can help besides donating money toward his hospital bill and getting the word out. Marty is one of my favorites.

cross king

todd wells

ya i watched him race last saturday, get a flat on the 1st lap, lose a lot of time, then charge the field to get 7th. its not just the flat. its the cut/ruined tire, the ride to the pit and the wheel change. thats a lot of wasted time to make up. especially on that course where passing on the dh and a lot of the uphill 1 track is pretty hard.

Hey Chris,

Good to see you at Deer Valley. Sorry it took me so long to get thsi back to you but here you go...

do you really like sager

No, but I think he needs a friend.

how do you travel all the time then get ready for big races without sucking or getting sick or dealing with jet lag, finding good food. or being away from family and friends long question but i always wonder

Well, I do get sick and suck at a lot of races. I hate jet lag. It has to be one of the worst feelings in the world and I do miss my wife and dog a lot. When you do something long enough you just get use to it and deal with the fact that you're not always going to be great and you're probably going to get sick eventually.I try to go home as much as possible between races to hang with my wife, dog and friends. Also, I find it easier to get good training in at home where I know the roads, trails etc. When I have a lot of races in a row on the road I just try to rest as much as possible and find fun things to do to pass the time.

the dart is super fast and young tell us about him shortly

The dart is pretty incredible. I think he's 19 this year but he seems much older and is definitely faster then most 19 year olds. He lives in SA where he has been racing since he was a little kid. He raced DH worlds as a junior and has riden motor bikes his whole life. I think he ran cross country in high school as well but now races XC full time. When he isn't in the US or Europe he's racing marathon XCs in SA. He almost hooked up with a really hot Swedish chick at our Euro Press camp last week.
the dart is his team mate burry who is only 19 yrs old and kicks ass already.

how is it to race mtn bikes then do cyclocross, thats a long season

It does make it a really long season. Since I started racing again in 01 I have always raced cross too so I don't know any better. Cross is such a cool sport and scene, I wish it didn't get harder every year.I get more burned on the travel then I do on the actual racing. Cross is a good way to stay motivated in the early part of the winter and way better then riding the trainer.

how do you feel about womens liberation

I don't know, I'm not a woman but I guess they feel liberated.

when you are blown/muddy/hatin it in a world cup and your bike breaks what do you think about

I think about how much I wish I was home with my wife and dog in sunny Durango. I wish I was tubing the river and drinking beer or playing golf with my friends. I also think, what am I doing here? I don't belong here, these guys are way too fast. But then after I get into the shower with all my clothes on and destroy another euro bathroom but come out feeling clean and warm I start to feel better. 2 days later I'm looking forward to the next race.

do you think you will be like tinker or ned racing when you are 50 or older

I don't know. It sucks to get slower rather then faster but I really enjoy racing my bike. If I can keep getting a job to ride my bike I'll keep doing it. Unless something happens and I get really good at golf, Meg hits the lottery or I get run over by a bus, I'll do it as long as I can.

Thanks and let me know if you need anything else.

swiss miss

erin collins

the new member of mona vie cannondale. taking the ICUP by storm, on a hard tail?!?!
if you have not noticed the new mova vie team its bart, thomas, sager, mini sager and erin.
shameless plug: cannondale, mova vie, reynolds, hotel san jose, sager sports LTD.
wow i should get a kick back for that.

if you are at the races and miss this girl, well then i dont know what to say. tall and blond. straight outta norway. ok, maybe not.

comin from the UC.

once i lighten up the stock cannondale caffeine, this cdale/rider combo has a bright future and many victories on the dirt road to fame and glory.

she is last years norba expert champ, that means the stars and bars. lots of untapped talent here.

maybe i could teach her a thing or 2. we'll see what cards she holds. only time can tell.

plus she does triathons, xterra and likes to run in the hills. so if you see the golden locks pass you on the DH or UH, better let her go cuz she will put you deep in the pain cave.

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs - such as food and water - were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

Definitely a boy to make out with. Maybe ear plugs so I can sleep at night.

If you had six months with no obligations or financial constraints, what would you do with the time?

No brainer. I'd travel the world. See lots of cool stuff and eat lots of good food. Play.

If you had only six months left to live, what would you do with the time?

Probably wouldn't change that much because I love my life as it is now. But I'd try to right some wrongs.

what is your idea of a perfect date?

A perfect date to me isn't so much what I do on the date it's the company I'm with. I like it when it's fun. It doesn't have to be all romantic. It's important to me that both of us are comfortable and for there to be lots of laughter. It helps if he's really funny.

If you could compare yourself with any animal, which would it be and why?

Cris, you already called me on this one. A monkey. First of all I've always wanted to own a monkey. But why I'm similar is obvious; long monkeylike arms and legs and a happy yet obnoxious personality.

If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

I don't know. I don't really like this question. Next... i think you are probably mt dew or laffy taffy.

what do you want to do with the next 2 years of your life

I just wanna have fun. I want to get really good at racing Mountain Bikes and race a bunch. I want to go on lots of trips. My plans are really undecided.

125 pounds of power

alex the rock aka zulle

he works at contender and rides the road bike. but back in the day he raced with us on mtn bikes. juniors and ripped it up. then something shifted in the young mind of rock and he moved to oregon. raced road bikes and likes to hammer the climbs. skinny like a concentration camp victim. he can ride the road bike for hours on end with out fading.

moral of the story, ride a lot and eat at taco bell and you will shred.

these piercing questions will take you deep into the mind of zulle.

What holidays do you celebrate?
Do you have any disabilities that affect the way you ride?
What is your health situation like?
Have you ever been arrested?
Are you on any medications?
Do you ever abuse alcohol or drugs?
How many children do you have?
What church do you attend?
I forgot to answer your 8 questions......sorry about that.
Here you go:
1. Halloween, Christmas, and New Years
2. Yes, my achilles tendons are jacked.......after lots of big miles they start to hurt and I can't ride for a week or 2
3. Aside from the achilles problem, perfect
4. No
5. No
6. No (just drink the occasional beer)
7. Zero
8. None

what day is it

kabush heard of the pink dude then got some pink socks.

You may have your eyes on the prize today --

but is this prize the right prize to be focusing on? You will have no trouble achieving what you set out to do right now, so don't be too conservative in your goals. Aim high and really challenge yourself -- the stars are encouraging you to put it all on the line and give yourself a task that's way outside your comfort zone. concentration camp

alex and bart, 140 pounds out of the shower with 400 watts.

i was pretty consistent for the weekend.

2 starts 2 dnf's. ya shred the dh.
ripped it up for a few laps today. ya that was the 2 min laps.

insert sarcasm here.

i got a few sweet pics and worked on my tan. so overall it was productive. plus i spent most the day with my 2 favorite girl friends. ooo ya, and my ass is sore from that stunt last night.

i got to borrow chris sherwins yeti today, i had a problem with my bike right before the race and didnt have time to fix it so he hooked me up and the sizing, fit was pretty close.
now i know how kathy feels for the fast tech/moral/husband support. hes rad.

i think i fancy him now.

also, larry longo the announcer who makes it worth while to listen and watch. most guys/announcers dont have that edge to make it fun. --except gardie or sandy.
but he does and he got me a new number plate. plus he races with us sometimes and thats got to hurt.

anyway my opinion of mtn biking racing at this level is: its pretty much dead. there are not that many racers, the categories are empty.
the pros are fast, and the spectators are good in spirit but there is nobody there except the family and friends of the racers.
im not complaining im just saying its pretty weak compared to the old days or what it could be.

whats with rad ross in the retro full skin suit from 1990, ya its 75 degrees. not hot but still..

up next is the 12 hr race in pc saturday. i got the duo team goin with zep. 6 hrs in shifts sounds ok. round valley is hot with no shade but it should be better than racing solo. lynda and bionic dave i think are racing with us. so i hope im faster, and zep can drop the flying scot.
if not i think we should both join kyle in alabama on the golf course.

Saturday, June 16, 2007

it was a long day but this explains it all

80 guys, 4 laps, 28 miles in 2 hrs 10 mins. 90 degrees,
thats hard core

kathy got 5th in the xc. thats a break through victory i would say.

i told you she rips the d.h.
and apparently the u.h.

todd wells 7th with a flat, thats hammer time.

time to think

thanks to bobby for the new club pic

well i have a short track race on sunday. its short, 20 mins. with a good power climb, loose gravel road and some pavement turns. i hate sucking so im goin to lay it out on the trail sunday. i dont care about the heat, the course or the competition. i should have could have been up there today. the last few 6 weeks have been up and down. one day i feel strong and another week its like i have nothing. the up and down roller coaster isnt too fun to deal with so i need to find another way to get going. i dont know how but i will.
if you want to see me blow up a race with a sly RMR attack at the gun come watch cuz im goin to throw it down or throw up trying.

so i called it a day after 10 minutes today i did a lap but i was going so slow i had to pull over and let everyone by, at least i helped chris peterson on the dh, he won the juniors and had a pretty good gap 20 mins in.
i was sitting in 15 at the bottom of the dh the snake train was super lame. the guys were wheel to wheel and not going fast at all. i had no power and it was very disappointing. to have all your friends at a race or knowing about it then come up short is pretty sad. then explaining or telling the same people why i sucked so bad is even harder. i dont like excuses or explaining so its easier to just do good and leave it at that.
if i could trade it for some earlier success i had in the year i would but thats the beauty of hind site.

so after my short attempt at a race i watched some guys suffer, sat in the car and thought about the current state of mind. went to lunch with a few good looking females, ya they are easy on the eyes and have personality as well, imagine that.
i went home for a few hours. fixed some bikes and did a road ride in the dark for hour and a half. riding in the dark is good for the eyes and legs. i still dont feel normal but in the morning im going to ride upper deer valley then watch the pros. so sunday at 2 it will be a different story.
i cant suck too many days in a row, its just impossible. chris holley ripped it up for 3rd. we should race more. it seems when im slow he races then when im ok him and his wife are on vacation some where. we have not raced much this year together except st george hurricane and sundance.

tomorrow night is a good get together at bart and rosies. all should come whether you were invited or not.
this forum is an invite and bart approved so just come and chill. many will be there and the fire pit is raging.

perspective is good. its a bike race but i hate not being up to par, if you know what im sayin.

more pics tomorrow, and i got todd wells comin up so that should be good reading.

this one girl from park city

lara kendall

this girl used to live in the big city. but she never called me. now she lives the high roller park city life style. you know rally the trail all day, then race. shred the experts and rip the dh.
she is the defintion of sarcasm and wit.
next time you see her at the races try to talk to her and see what i mean.

too bad i wasnt there taking this picture.

1. If you could take someone to the moon with you who would it be?

You, Cris Fox. He's clearly a super human and does well when deprived of oxygen.

2. so you rip the dh like kathy sherwin, how did you learn the mad skillzzz
Honestly, i wasnt very good on the dh until I got my new bike (cannondale). Although the lefty looks funky to me, the suspension is awesome! I love it! I had a hard tail before and hanging with my buds on the dh was tough. Trying to keep up with the boyz in PC has helped too.

3. who is your most favorite biker in utah

Easy… Chucky Gibson (drool here) next question. Oh Fox rips too, if he stays in a race for more than 10 minutes.

4. how do i rate as an interviewer

Is this a one thru ten question? You should be on The View. I picture you on Rosie’s lap. Id give you an 8....where's my coffee?
how's life in pc? I grew up in Maine and moved here after college in 1999. I actually came here for the xc skiing. After i quit skiing a friend got me into mtn biking and i was hooked. It's the best sport ever. It hurts so good! I love the riding up here and the biking community is pretty cool too.
5. tell us a secret about lara the "mysterious"

I dont have any secrets...i wear my emotions on my sleeve. Anyone who wants to know me can.

6. if you had a super power what sounds best. I want to fly. Being high and going fast has always been appealing.

7. and when you were stuck on an island with food and stuff what else would you bring
I read a lot...id bring Salinger's Catcher in the Rye. One of my favs and always a good read. It's really short though...hmmm how long am i on the island for??
if you won 5 million in a lottery how would you spend it? Paying you back for the check you just wrote me...

i dont want to talk bout it

primetime choke a thon, im taking up golf.

check out my sweet ride

i scored the 4x4 for 400.
this bad boy gets 12mpg. j/k. its like 58mpg. its a work in progress. im runnin low on stickers. since thats my main export on the www.

so if you guys want to decorate or donate the fox mini, go ahead. its a public billboard. if you see it at the races just spray paint it or put stickers on it. just like the old car at lone star. yaa

im goin to have it covered with stickers, it just takes a long time peeling stickers. so dont worry bout the silver bullet, the swiss miss in borrowing it for few, bz and bobby saw it driving down the freeway... boggling.

nate kicks it in P-town

so if you're wondering about p-town thats providence. up near logan. cache valley.

nate representin the p-town posse.

last month we went to lava rama the worst course on the planet. it was one of those hard days, but for nate he was on fire. after about an hour i looked back to see the damage i had caused and crazy nate had flames comin off his tires and was hot on my ass. so i had to put it in the pain cave to hold off a late race charge. he was on fire and it was painful.
we got 4th and 5th. since then we have both had better and worse days on the bike.
its days like that where you see your own and your friends potential and i know there are many more days like that for young crazy nate.

If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

Probably Mexican food, I just can't get enough!

If you won $20 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?

I would probably travel to the 100 biggest cities in the world and hand out $100.00 bills to random people.j/k Probably travel with my family, invest, help others, and buy a bunch of fun toys and get aways. but I would defenatly make sure I spent and invested wisely so I would'nt have to worry about work for the rest of my life.

How do I rate as an interviewer?

Up until the questions you sent me I would say pretty good, like an 8, but my questions kinda suck! j/k But I would still say pretty close to an 8. I'm impressed with how many people you've interviewed, it's been fun to read, I'd say your doing a pretty good job!

If you were a car, what kind would you be?

Dodge Viper, because then I would be fast at something!

Who do you admire the most and why?

Defenatley my wife Casha! She is my best friend and I have always admired her from the time we met (9 years ago) and continue to as well. She is such a good mother, and an amazing support to me with all my hobbies and interest. I could'nt ask for a better wife!

In the news story about your life, what would the headline say?

I think the nick name you gave me would pretty much sum up my life to this point "crazy Nate" the good crazy you know, not the stupid crazy.

bz training compound north

blake z aka bz

high rollin plush livin in the high rises of b-town. training compound north. last summer bz, susy and climb-um put the compound on the map.

bz likes to dice with pros, local and norba. 3% fat puts him lightweight 147 lbs at 6'1. yaaa

dont deny, bz rips the dh on the ht. wait for the thumb to get strong and the form comes with ease. late season charge. better watch out.
climb-um ZEE.

BZ is a banker, chingy pumpin in the office., full on 9-5 suit and tie gig. but leaves time for the ladies and rippin trail.

cant beat that.

1 why race ride or shred

There have been great responses to this question by other interviewees. Pushing mental and physical fitness to its very limits is beautiful. Most people never take advantage of life and miss out on priceless experiences. There are too many people that report to the man and then go home and burn the night by watching TV and eating poorly. So riding is a proclaimation. It's freedom. It's an expression. It's giving the bird to a sedentary life. It's an embracement of life; which includes ups and downs and all of the experiences of the journey. And racing is tits - when the legs are firing and others are suffering, searching for gears, gasping for oxygen, taking wild risks on the DH, and you roll thru with an awesome performance, it's brilliant!

2 what did you learn by being married
Too much to write in an interview. Liz and I were together for a long time, but the relationship wasn't very well-maintained and we grew in opposing directions. Most married couples have some pretty shitty times, and some part and some stay together. I'm continously amazed at how two people that are so close to each other, in love, and share so much can end up not wanting anything to do with the other person. So the big "take away" from marriage is to be involved, commited, flexible and harmonious with your spouse on most things.

3 what do you think about being all lamed up from the hand surgery

This is the third year in a row since getting my pro upgrade that I've had a substantial limiter during part of the season. But I'm positive about what I can do on the bike and I'm plan on flying in July, August and then again in October for Collegiate Nationals.

4 whats your philosophy on dating or finding that special someone

This is another topic that I could write way too much on. Dating is awkward and blind dates are more awkward, but I like to have fun with it. I've met some very cool girls over the last 1 1/2 years. But cool girl doesn't equal "special someone" as you like to put it. Matching core values is an important element and a daily shower plan impresses the hell out of the ladies. If you are yourself, relaxed and more interested in the chick than yourself, then you are positioned for a successful evening.

5 if you had super powers what would it be

It would be rad to have about 50 to 100 miles of well-designed 1-track in Davis County.

epic riding and writing adam

adam lisonbee

i have known adam a short time, but here is what i know.
he likes to ride a 1 speed for a long time. he rides 100 milers and kokopeli for hours on end. i dont get him or you other guys like kenny jones, bionic dave or lynda who like 24 hr solo, 12 hr solo or 200 mile endurance races. i lose interest and motivation at hour 5.

so in short much respect to adam and you guys, and for adam who writes good stories on his blog about his epic adventures with him, pain and the trail in a battle with the pain cave. i have seen that dark pain cave and i dont want to go back.
but he seems to like it.

ok 1.5 hrs racing a 1 speed is ok, but 12 hrs at pc??
tell us how you are so hard core

Racing the SS at the E12 is uncharted territory for me. I don't think I am hardcore, not like the real SS superheroes, like Kenny Jones, who scorch anything and everything pushing one monster gear. But riding the one speed has been a real eye opener for me. I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought, so I figured it was time to try and hammer out an endurance race on it. In truth, I am more worried about the constant rocky descending, than I am about the climbing. Your arms and hands take a solid beating after a few hours on the rigid fork.

you had the ambition to race with us at 5 mile pass, 45 miles on a 1 speed tell us about that epic day

Oh boy. I think that day I was a bit over-zealous. I wanted to get in a long, fast, and challenging workout, so I registered with the Pro's and brought along the SS. For 2 laps things went reasonably well, but after a third I just popped. I turned around and called it a day. School was in session big time that day. Since then I have been racing with the Singlespeed group, and school remains in session. The local SSers are crazy fast, especially in a race that only lasts 90 minutes or so. But it has been a ton of fun chasing them around. Ultimately I race and ride on the SS to help make me stronger. That race at 5 mile was a bit embarrassing, and from most perspectives a disaster. But I learned a lot about how to race the SS, how to push myself faster and longer, and also, first hand, just how fast you guys hammer. If only I had had a big ring....

how is life in the uc, and tell us about family man epic adam

Right now the UC is one big construction zone. I feel like I live in a world of orange barrels. It is a bit of a nightmare. But overall, I really like it down here. My driveway is a short ride from several miles of great singletrack, and a short drive from some of Utah's finest trails. And as a bonus, I am that much closer to Moab than you SLC guys. The family life is great. I have 3 kids, and they are absolutely crazy. They love the outdoors, and are starting to really get into the bike races. Who knows, in a year or two they may be shredding the 9 and under scene at the ICUP. It would be great to have a racer in the family winning some ribbons, because we know I 'aint pulling my weight! My wife is very cool about my MTB obsession. She comes out to some of the races and keeps the kids from running onto the one track. Sometimes family obligations trump riding and training, but I really wouldn't change anything. For every lost training hour, I am usually gaining hours with the kids. Between the lightsaber fights, the wrestling, and the backyard sports I'd have to say the workouts are about even anyway. what would you do if you didnt ride or raceI have always loved the outdoors. I love competing. So I am sure I could find a way to combine those two things, but riding is by far, I think, the best way to satisfy those interests. I used to hike and hunt and fish a lot more than I do these days, but biking has just taken over those other things. I have also wanted to try some trail running, there are a couple of pretty grueling events here in Utah, like the Wasatch 100, that fascinate me. For the time though I will just worry about going 100 miles on the bike.

how do i do as an interviewer

I'd say you are the Larry King of the bike world.

if you won 3 million in a lottery what would you do with your time and money

What wouldn't I do? I think I'd pay off the house, get a nice car, maybe a new bike or two, spend some time traveling with the family, and then put some of it into some business ideas. I work in the film industry, so I think I would turn some of my "big ideas" into reality.

jake the snake team ride clean

jake lives in tucson

he used to be a messenger with me here in the big SLC back in 98. before that i would work him over at decker dash when he was a sport class racer.

it was really funny, now he does pro road stage races, crits and races from cali to georgia.

from time to time big jonny will post good stuff about snake. they are buddy buddy, if you know what im sayin.

if snake still lived here he would win all the road races, even if sandys whole team duked up on him. ok thats a bit much, but you get the idea.

"Just riding your bike doesn't make you a good cyclist. Its what you do
for the other 20 hours in the day that defines you as a cyclist."

why dont you move back to utah and clean up on the local racing scene or trade the skinny tires for fat

Ill leave the local clean up to you. I got my own people to beat on down here. Although I did do a 50 miler a couple of weekends ago. All my skillz came back after the first DH. After that it was like shredding the city creek sick back in the day with Rock, Crispy and the Sly....yeahhhhhhhhhhh

how do you respond to authority

Not well, I just got out of slam. What I told everyone was that I was back east for 2 years. Really I was in the big house for a while. But Im back now and I have paid my debt to society. But you if you should happen to piss me off dont slip and fall on this knife, ok?

do you like to train with gord fraser

Lazor and I have this love hate thing going. He knows that Im good and I know hes full of shit. So we basically try and beat the hell out of each other then at the end of the day we are friends. But the reality of the situation is he is Canadian so he is worthless. The only 2 things that Canada has ever produced is maple syrup and hockey. He is neither. One time I did try and sprint him. He looked at me and said "I didnt think you wanted to open that can of worms......" The score at the end of the day was Gord 10, Snake 0. So he can sprint when he wants to....

what would it be like to go back in time

It would be sick. I would go back to the race where I was beating you in the Decker dash and have and extra seat post ready. Then when I was killing you and my post broke I could have changed that post out and wrecked your 4 year undefeated record. I would have been a god!!! Too bad I was just a sport rider at the time.

if you had a space ship where would you go

San Carlos mexico. That place is the shit. Slow pace of life. Nobody is in a hurry. Sea fishing is great, and the magaritas are pretty fucking tasty too.

how are the chicks down in tuck son

Hot as hell son. I have a theory. If its at least 80 degrees for 8 days straight a cruiser ride though the campus is all the hormone therapy a cyclist ever needs.

how am i as an interviewer

I cant believe you didnt ask me about the time that I took you all to the wood shed at the Draper days mountain bike race??? WTF.. That was my first big win ever. I shocked the world. Sly, A-train, O-ran, steve Z man, you were all there and couldnt believe it when I big ringed the climb on the second, third, and fourth time up. I was on the Sly program. Deliver packages all day for Adam at Salt City Messengers all day. Get killed by Bart Man on the cross on the weekends and the crush at the Draper Days......

be sure to tell all the girls about sly.Last time I checked you were in love with your bike? Dont worry I handle the girls, and the DH.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhsnake out

solitude tuesday worlds coming up in 2 weeks

if there is anyone out there that hasnt ridden the trails at solitude then get up there. its my fave course on the ICUP. i dont like climbing much but the dh is a ripper. who ever made that sweet 1 track had some mad skillz cuz its a full on flow dh. no switchbacks and if you let off the brakes you can hit 40 on some sections.

it is my fave dh on the race circuit so go try it out and if you have raced it then you know what im sayin about flow.

heres the race series. i think i will go to all of them, its closer than heber and sundance.

pro rider feature reed wycoff

reed, tom cook and t bird should get together and jam.

reed works at contender, he races pro and usually i see him coming up behind me at the end. so the point is i need to pedal faster or he will pass me.

hes a young kid trying to get faster and not before long i dont doubt he will be up in the top 3. since this bike game here in utah has a few fast guys its super hard to get in the top 5 consistently.

i like reed cuz hes always nice and asks questions, has had bad days, mechanicals and keeps his chin up for the next week end. totally the opposite of some guys i have seen cussing, throwing bikes and having a bad attitude. so thats NOT reed. he knows how to get there and it takes time so have patience grass hopper.
1 why race ride or shred
2 how is working at contender
3 what do you think about racing pro in utah
4 whats your philosophy on dating or finding that special someone
5 if you had super powers what would it be
1. I ride because I love it. I'm always thinking about ways to become a better rider. I love having something that I'm always working at.

2. Working at the shop is great. I'm always meeting people who are in to riding and that seems to fuel my passion.

3. Racing as a pro in Utah is cool becuase I can race against the best around. I'm not as fast as top guys, but I want to ride as fast as I can. I figure that if I race against the best I will push myself further. It's also fun to race against guys who are more competitive with themselves than with others. There is sense that everybody wants to see you doing your best.

4. When it comes to dating I think that the most important thing is to find someone who you can share your life with. Many people settle for simply sharing a place to stay, dinner, and a bed. These things are all great, but I would like to think it's important to also share some of the same passions and energy regardless of the form they take.

5. If I could have any super powers I would have the ability to ride like chris fox.

turbo aka ryan barrett or coach

i found a bunch of silly stuff on the internet about turbo,

here and here and here

if you go to the road festivities and see a tall guy thats turbo. and if you look in velonews and see the reynolds ad the skinny legs thats turbo. with a new pair of gardies socks.

nice touch.

or maybe if you like cross and see the guy bobbing around like a wonder pony thats turbo.

im not mocking, im saying thats how you see him at the races.

something hard about racing is peaking for a specific event. the timing getting it down to a day that counts big and layin down the power of domination. he can and has done that. its impressive to see the planning and timing for a big race. i still dont know how, its always a shot in the dark.

or maybe if you see this guy strike a pose
state champ in the hizzy... word

how is the utah county treatin you

The UC (PROvo) is where it's at. I love it there. People like to say how everyone's a crazy religious nut there, but that hasn't been my experience at all. Or maybe I am a nutter and just fit in.

do you really like chucky gibson

I love that guy! I like all the Gibsons.

what is your take on stormin normin

I like Normy too. He needs to learn the art of crittin' and improve his consistency if he wants to make full-time dreamer status.

tell us about family man turbo

My kids are good-looking and incredibly intelligent and unlike every other parent in the world, I am completely unbiased. Obviously, they didn't get any of that from me so that tells you what you need to know about darling wife. Also, she's hot and she is way tougher than me.

when are you going to race a mtn bike again

I want to get out to something this year, but it is hard because we have a pretty good road scene and when there's none of that I like to hang out with my girls. I will be teaching you how to bunny hop during cross season for sure. And by teaching I mean showing you what not to do.

what if you had super powers which one would you like

X-Ray vision would be pretty tight. I could win a lot of races if I had incredible strength or was "Lung Man" or something. You know, now that I think about "with great power comes great responsibility" and I have way too much responsibility as it is, so count me out!

so the best is last, but im not done. 100 interviews and here is around 30 or so. i got louder comin up, and maybe climb-um jones if he ever calls me back.
and who knows maybe dave z............
