Curious on your thoughts on the Marty J scuffle?
The Chinese spent $800,000 to put down rubber matting because the race walkers complained the granite surface of the course was too hard.

There are WAY too many events in the olympics.
i didnt see it, i dont know mj personally but if someone is still pissed off 12 yrs later there was some damage done. i suspect everyone on postal was on drugs at one time or another, i find it hard to believe once someone on that team leaves they suck again or before they are pack fill. then all of the sudden wow, on postal and they get really good..... fast.
sorry to say this includes mj and dz.
my opinion, i hope im wrong.
the chinese dont need to spend 5 trillion on olympics they need to spend it on wind and solar energy.
Gracias Fox: I hope you are wrong too, but too much circumstantial evidence and hear-say say other wise. I was not really sure what to make of the anger by MJ...It shows poor form on the part of MJ.
I didn't think it was true until I clicked on KK's link to NPR. I thought the XC racers bitching that the new course was too rough, but this puts that to bed.
Anyone racing the Shuffle-XC at the NORBA Nationals next weekend? New event where you stand next to your bike and shuffle for 30 miles. NORBA took racers complaints to heart last weekend and have begun laying down bubble wrap along the course and mattresses in the 'high speed' corners to help prevent injury.
